Father Thomas Haeberle on the causes of leukaemia

An alternative explanation for "blood cancer"

THOMAS HÄBERLE OSB (1912-1997) was an erudite Swiss Benedictine naturopath who wrote three books about his vast experiences with the natural healing of a number of diseases. In the last volume of this trilogy titled SAMMELN UND SICHTEN ("a critical review of a quarter of a century's successful service to my ill and suffering fellow man"), Häberle reports his interesting observations on the causes of leukemia a translation of which is featured below.

Please note that while the cause-effect relationship observed by Father Häberle is undoubtedly true, it still appears obvious that there are other potential causes of leukemia as well which Häberle may simply have never come across - the majority of his patients seem to have been Swiss country dwellers yet mostly unaffected by modern "blessings" such as EMFs and other types of modern pollution.^[1]

Here are Father Haeberle's "alternative" observations on the causes of leukaemia.

Blood cancer?

"In the vast majority of cases, the incorrectly named blood cancer is due to fistulas and cysts. I have successfully treated several cases given up on by their doctors. One of them was a 45-year-old family man whose life was spent between months in the hospital and lying bedridden at home. When I tested his blood^[2], I found one fistula and cyst in both his chest and his abdomen. My prescription was cabbage leaf packs, olive oil massages, herbal cough tea, rolled oats and bees' honey^[3].

Four months later I received the following report: "He's back at work as before!"

Whenever I find fistulas and cysts, there are viruses involved - although one can carry entire colonies of viruses in one's body without having fistulas or cysts! Most of the time, these viruses are encapsulated and hence pose no risk of infection. Once found and located, we attack them with cabbage leaf packs and olive oil massages."^[3]

Together with various herbal teas, dietary advice and some other naturopathic medicines, Father Häberle reaped great successes in a variety of diseases using the above two mainstays of his treatment - cabbage leaf packs and massages with virgin olive oil. Regarding the latter, he particularly noted the outstanding results from using olive oil for diseases affecting the bones or head since this oil "is able to penetrate even the hardest bones and bring healing where it is needed".^[3]

In his books, he hastened to stress that he did not wish to treat cancer and left this domain to doctors. In spite of this, he was widely known under the moniker of "Krebspater" ("cancer Father") even well beyond the borders of his native Switzerland.
